CRYSTAL RIVER, FLORIDA (July 2018) – Patients of Seven Rivers Medical Center in Citrus County will benefit from enhanced diagnostic and interventional radiology services, thanks to a new partnership with Radiology Associates of Ocala (RAO), which will be providing Board Certified subspecialty-trained radiologists to enhance the med center’s staff.

RAO’S Dr. Caleb Rivera, who specializes in diagnostic radiology and vascular and interventional radiology, has been appointed Chief of Radiology at Seven Rivers. “I think the most significant advantage for patients in the Seven Rivers area is now having subspecialty-trained radiologists providing their care,” says Dr. Rivera. “Patients being evaluated for health issues – whether neurological, musculoskeletal, digestive, respiratory, breast, prostate, you name it – have the advantage of knowing their studies are going to be read by radiologists who specialize in those specific areas. That’s a significant factor in the overall accuracy of diagnosis and treatment. And when it’s your test, or that of someone you love, you want to know you’re getting the most experienced, thorough and exacting care.” Because Seven Rivers previously had only one diagnostic radiologist on staff, its improved benefit to patients in both the speed and accuracy of testing and diagnosis is expected to be dramatic.

Additionally, the hospital will also benefit from having RAO’s skilled interventional radiologists performing regular rotations there to serve patients. Interventional radiologists do more than diagnose disease – they receive extensive additional education and training that enables them to perform non- and minimally-invasive treatments that can directly address illness and help prevent the need for surgery.

“RAO is happy to extend the expertise of our diagnostic and interventional radiologists to help ensure Citrus County enjoys the same high-quality healthcare as Marion County, so patients here no longer have to wait long periods for testing and results, or travel far from home,” says Dr. Rivera. “We look forward to helping improve the quality of life for everyone here in this wonderful community.”
